| I can't wait for this weekenddddddd and also the coming fall semester. This school year should be pretty interesting...
Oh yeah, LeaderShape was pretty much awesome. I feel so inspired after last week.. too bad I'm stuck at my job doing office work. I wish I could go outdoors more! I can't wait 'till our LeaderShape reunion during the school year!
Oh man, there's so much to look towards... I think it's that time when I need to stop being lazy and start doing things. Life is starting to pick up, hopefully.
Spring semester sucked grade-wise though haha.. damnit I can never seem to break free from mediocrity. I guess it could be worse.. at least I don't have a 2 something lol

| I miss childhood. I miss innocence. I miss playing video games. I miss being close with friends. I miss being close with family. I miss the past. I miss elementary, middle, and high school. I miss Houston.
I don't think I would regret doing anything from the past.. but boy would it be nice to live the earlier years a different way or perspective. I think it would be pretty cool.. but life goes on and now I just have to do the best I can as a 20 year old :( Time goes wayyy too fast. I'm such a kid at heart haha.

| Okay, so I guess everyone became a master in politics overnight. Seriously, did anyone else see the mass Facebook status updates that displayed each and every individual's partisan view of the winner of the presidential election. Did we really make the right decision? Furthermore, did the people of the U.S. (both educated and non-educated) make the right decision? Was it for the right reasons?
What I've noticed is many of the Obama supporters just blindly support his popular political agenda of "Hope" and "Change". Do people even look into politics? Not just the few months preceding the election, but the overall history of the country and the candidates. The only thing that "changed" when Obama won that election last night was that he became the first half African-American president of the United States. Obama did a good job advocating change before the election, but how come he didn't say that it would take up to a whole term to correct what's wrong in our economy? Of course.. he has to win the election first, then tell all the American people the honest truth. Yeah economy is a big deal, but is it the only issue out there? What about our safety as a country? That should be ranked pretty high up there, too... I mean you can have all the money in the world, but it won't mean much if your friends, family, or you die because of negligence of safety. (Although he didn't mention it much during his speech.. maybe Obama talked about this, I just haven't looked into everything, and if he has, then I apologize.)
There are definitely some educated supporters out there, but from what I've seen from some supporters are simple-minded "let's all jump on the Obama wagon". Even I, myself, have been persuaded that he is the right president to lead our country. However, there's much more that is to happen in order to get the country back to prosperity than just a President. Whether or not Obama is to pan out, we will see. He's either the worst decision we make for a president or the best decision. So in summary, I don't see why some individuals thinks the U.S. is going to become fine overnight or that Obama is going to bring immediate change. Tracy McGrady even expressed his support for Obama saying "we need change, change is needed". He also states, "Obama is a great person, I met him in person." Yeah, I hear he's a great person too, but the spot for President is more than just about being a great person, T-Mac. By the way, the Rockets lost last night. You should probably worry about them more! Ha.
I'm only analyzing Obama because he's the winning candidate. I don't know if McCain would have been more suited to the position. I have no party alliance nor popular influence. Also, I did not think I did enough time researching the candidates (this can be partially blamed on being busy being an EE, and the rest blamed on my political apathy) to warrant me to vote. To be honest, I couldn't pick a side, and I didn't want to make the wrong vote, therefore I will shut up, but not before I put my breakdown my 2 cents. I can see why I'm so apathetic towards the whole political scene. Seriously, it's like the whole science vs. religion argument all over again. There's NEVER a clear cut answer, and there will always be people on both sides with never-ending discussions resulting. It's just what you believe in. And if it's Obama that we believe in, I'm cool with that. I've never been a fan of such discussions, yet I'm in one right now. Haha.
This is not really a rant, but rather a figment of my curiosity. I'm an engineer, not a government major. I'm not trying to show people up, but rather keep them thinking and give them a reality check.
Cheers to a new President and the next four years! Let's HOPE it turns out okay afterall. :)
